“Concepts of Biochemistry” has divided the subject in to eight different chapters covering the whole contents of biochemistry in accordance with the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) syllabus of all Indian Universities Under the New Education Policy (NEP) of 2020.
The chapters are:
- Introduction and Scope of Biochemistry
- Chemical bonds and Important Functional Groups and Reactions in Biochemistry,
- Water, pH and Buffer
- Biomolecules
- DNA organization, Information Processing and Recombinant DNA Technology
- Bioenergetics and High energy molecules
- Enzyme-Its mechanism of action
- Metabolism
Further, during presentations of concepts in different chapters, Nobel Prizes awarded on various concepts have been discussed (wherever relevant) to provide the fundamental detail on which prize was awarded.
The book has been authored by Dr VK Srivastava and Ms Maya Upadhyay who have 34+ and 25+ years of teaching biochemistry at graduate level and above.
